Hello all!
So just a little update on our progress. The McAdam Clan are all doing fine, and beginning to panic a little about our Peru trip and our lack of fitness... so we're all doing a little extra to try and become fitter and more prepared. Dad is probably doing the best - having been on several walks - one up a hill with walking poles! And following his part-time relocation to Wales im sure he'll find plenty of suitable training walks (Mount Snowdon Dad?!) Shona remains quiet about her training - she's either not doing anything, or is secretly turning into a Machine! As for me, well i walked up Blackford hill the other week. For those unfamiliar with it, its a short walk suited to saturday dog walkers (except me, Angus cant behave in public well enough to be set loose up there!) and to be honest, it was more leisurely stroll with some pit-stops than a training walk. But it had Big steps (which i went down, not up) and a few up and downs though nothing compared to the inca trail i fear. This did not fill me with confidence - must try harder (and eat less chocolate!)
In fundraising news we're pleased to report that "Helen's Trees for Christmas" - masterminded by family friends Andy Barr and Davy Forster has raised us a massive £700 from selling xmas trees in the Biggar, Lanark and Peebles area (and possibly beyond!) Muchos love and big thanks to Andy and Davy for organising this, and to everyone who bought one of their trees!
We've got a few things going on in the pipeline also - as time marches on we're beginning to up our game a bit. so here's a little outline of some (not to distant) future plans...
- Thurs 9th Feb - One of my bestest pals Lauri Duthie is holding a charity quiz night with raffle in Broughty Ferry. Everyone is welcome, Here for more details - https://www.facebook.com/events/102851913171135/
- Sat 11th Feb - Tesco Peebles bag pack, organised by our lovely Cousin Donna (still awaiting confirmation)
- Sat 25th Feb - Peebles coffee morning arranged by our other lovely Cousin Lisa. More details to follow....

And finally... MND Scotland are holding a "Take the Plunge" challenge in aid of MND awareness week in June. The challenges include a sky dive at St Andrews, a Bungee jump at Killiecrankie and a Shark dive at Sea World. These events will be taking place on June 23rd and we're trying to get as many people as possible on board in support of the McAdam Clan. Go here for details - http://www.mndscotland.org.uk/2012/01/take-the-plunge-in-mnd-awareness-week/ and get yourself signed up for a once in a lifetime experience!!!
